Murder ballads in the lift?
A couple of years ago over the space of a couple of weeks, I ran into three different friends who all said they were joining a bluegrass band. I got very excited: wow there’s a whole bluegrass scene arising in Amsterdam! But then it turned out they were all joining the same band: The Pedro Delgados. Oh well — one band does not make a scene… But this weekend they are playing in front of 100 000 people at the inspired Black Cross Festival. So have murder ballads finally crossed over to the masses?
